Hello! I am Ronald Zincone and this is my story.

I am an award-winning photographer from Rhode Island, a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography and a current student in the continuing education, certificate in photography program at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). I have been pursuing photography, astronomy and extreme weather since the early 70’s and I am Southern New England’s #1 traveling teacher and a lifelong learning instructor since 2006. I am a sole proprietor of ronaldzinconephotography since 2005.

I have a passion for capturing, what I call, “On the Edge” compositions – whether it be extreme weather such as lightning, tropical storms, severe thunderstorms or spectacular atmospheric events such as rainbows, halos and auroras. I also pursue celestial subjects where I combine my knowledge of astronomy and photographic skills to create celestial Nightscapes where earth and sky connect! I also enjoy capturing landscapes, the world of macro and abstract/impressionism.

I especially enjoy tracking and following the history of New England hurricanes and tropical storms but my greatest passion is educating you, the student, in a “real-time”, one-on-one, hands-on in the classroom or via ZOOM — interactive learning environment!

“I am in constant pursuit of — the unusual, the rare, the unique, the magical, the majestic — something that is ‘On the Edge’ between the believable and unbelievable”.

I also enjoy collecting mission patches, historic publications on extreme New England weather and space travel trading cards as well as reading my favorite subjects — astronomy, weather and photography!

I am a member of the Amateur Astronomical Society of Rhode Island (AASRI) (Skyscrapers, Inc.), The Planetary Society (TPS), The Spotter Network, CoCoRahs network, Astronomical League (AL), Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers (ALPO), the Boston Museum of Science, the Roger Williams Park museum & planetarium, the Blue Hills Observatory & Science Center, a Certified Photographic Consultant (C.P.C.) and a trained Skywarn Storm Spotter for the National Weather Service!

“Providing 100% student service since 2005”

“Southern New England’s #1 traveling teacher of photography, astronomy and weather since 2006!
