None, except a desire for transformation.
What is self-love?
Self-love is….love. We have infinite capacity within us to love. We use this to form and sustain relationship with others. But we hardly channel this towards ourself.
How does one love one's own self?
Self-love is no different from any other kind of love. Yet it is much harder. Conditioning, lack of emotional nurturing or traumatic expeirence can severely diminish our ability to love our self. With the help of daily practices, affirmations and inner work, we all can unleash our inner power and transform our life.
Isn't self-love selfish?
Selfishness entails asking another to do your bidding. Appreciating, celebrating and cherishing your own self is not selfish. As Audre Lorde says, caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.
