Simon Gregor

Doctor

After a 15 years working for the UK government, Simon gave up his job to pursue his passions of history and literature! He has worked since as a lecturer, tutor and tour guide; and has degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of Wolverhampton in the UK.

Hi there, my name is Dr Simon Gregor!

I am really looking forward to sharing my passion for history and literature with you! I spent the first 15 years or so of my working life as a government communications director, before quitting the UK civil service to work as a tour guide and tutor.

I took my undergraduate degree in English Literature at the University of Cambridge; and then my PhD in history at the University of Wolverhampton.

My interest has always been in bringing history and literature to life – they should not be something to scare us with numerous dates or technical terms! In particular, I am fascinated by the historical experience of real people, and the connections we can make through literature with those who lived ostensibly very different lives!

I look forward to meeting with you and learning from you.
