Harlan Lovestone

Harlan Lovestone

Hello! My name is Harlan and I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. That's Why I grew up and became an artist and art teacher. I am really excited to be teaching with Live Classes Online. I enjoy teaching drawing, painting, animation, comics, video editing, and digital art. I look forward to seeing you in one of my classes soon.

Harlan Lovestone (born in Detroit, Michigan) is a visual artist and endorsed K-12 visual arts educator who has regionally exhibited paintings, drawings, and videos in various parts of the United States.
Harlan became enamored with pop culture and art via television and comic books during his childhood in Detroit, which eventually led him to study fine arts at the Center for Creative Studies and Wayne State University. In college, he began to experiment with analog video and appropriating images, which would both continue to be aspects of his work in the future.
Using humor and poignant messages, much of Lovestone’s art deals with introspective examination, social understanding, and forms of dialogue created via the context of painting, drawing, poetry, and digital media forms.
Mr. Lovestone believes that art is an important aspect of humanity for its ability to be used to educate, heal as therapy, and renovate for community improvement. A proponent of public art, Harlan Lovestone is the founder of The Art Haus Project ( which is an artist-driven initiative to use art for good to help improve the lives of communities. He is currently creating art in Chattanooga, TN where he recently completed a mural for the city through the Electric Power Board. Harlan also teaches art remotely and in person.

“He is one of the hardest workers I have ever come across. Harlan is very daring and highly experimental”- Alvin Loving, American Abstract Expressionist Painter (1935-2005)
