Class Description

Welcome to the H.I.I.T. Class.

This class is all about the H.I.I.T. training technique that utilizes High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T.) to get your heart pumping and your body burning with excitement in this fast-paced quick action workout.

H.I.I.T. Training is a fast-paced and exciting style of exercise training that utilizes high intensity exercises in short intervals lasting no more than 20 – 40 seconds with equal or shorter rest periods in between each set to allow for ample recovery.

H.I.I.T. Training is a perfect way to crunch a great, killer workout in a short time frame that can be easily incorporated into any busy day. The typical H.I.I.T workout will pack a punch and promote exercise and fitness gains in under 30 minutes while also spiking your metabolism to burn calories at an accelerated rate hours after the workout is over.

As adults are recommended at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily to stay in shape, new studies have shown that the same physiological benefits and adaptations can be achieved in a much shorter time frame through high intensity training that can be performed only a couple times a week!

The H.I.I.T. Training method is designed to push people past their limits with very short bursts of high intensity exercises. This method is an excellent way to challenge your challenge yourself, enhance your current fitness and incorporate a new and exciting method into your exercise routine with every workout!

FAQ

Is This a Beginner or Advanced Class?

This class is designed for all fitness levels. Every exercise is done for an allotted period of time rather than repetitions and the workout itself comes packed with optional modifications and alternative exercises to increase or decrease difficulty and help find the intensity that will best challenge yourself. If you do not feel comfortable engaging in the next exercise due to injury or exhaustion, simply rest or engage in some light activity or alternate excises for the 20-40 second round until the next one comes or until you feel ready to jump back in to the workout.

Will I Need Equipment?

The only equipment needed for this class will be an optional exercise mat, appropriate exercise footwear and an open space. Both of these are highly recommended. A towel can usually suffice as an exercise mat. If you do not have appropriate footwear engaging in these exercises bare-foot should be no problem, just make sure that there are no hazardous object that could be stepped on. Other than those items all you will need is your body and a will to improve!

Is H.I.I.T. Good for Weight Loss or Strength Gain?

H.I.I.T. Training is ideal for achieving both weight loss and strength training enhancements in the same workout. Because each exercise is very intense and fast-paced, you will be challenging your muscle fibers to adapt to rapid resistance movements promoting muscle growth and stimulus. Also, because the H.I.I.T. training method utilizes such short rest times and active recoveries with intense exercise intervals, your body is almost always moving and burning calories at rates much higher than conventional exercise and will continue to do so long after the workout ends, promoting optimal stimulus for weight loss while growing those muscles!
